Welcome to the amazing 15-day Grand Uganda Safari an ultimate escape into the popular safari destinations of Uganda. After taking on this amazing tour, you will agree that Uganda is the Pearl of Africa. It is an opportunity to see multiple flora, fauna, and thousands of bird species.

During this 15 days Grand Uganda Safari, you will visit Uganda’s most popular national parks such as Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Lake Mburo National Park.

Each of these national Parks is a haven for several animals and birds. You will encounter the Big Five animals (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo). Other animals to see include; zebras, warthogs, antelopes, gazelles, and hyenas.

You will dive into Uganda’s primate life as you trek the gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park. Cultural encounters will also be part of the tour as you interact with the local members of the communities.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Mabamba Swamp Tour

Mabamba Swamp

Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your lodge, you will meet our professional driver guide. He or she will brief you about your 15 days grand Uganda Safari.

You will then embark on an amazing Mabamba swamp tour and explore the area. Meet the popular shoebill stock and other bird species. Lunch will be at a hotel on the lake and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kampala city tour

Kasubi Tombs Uganda

After breakfast at your hotel, you will take on a Kampala city tour.

The tour will take you to places like Kasubi tombs, Bulange-Mengo palace, Bahai Temple, and Namugongo Martyrs’ shrine, to mention but a few. Visit the local markets as well.

Lunch will be at a hotel around the city. In the evening check in to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s oldest and largest national Park.

You will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Lunch will be at a hotel in Masindi.

Continue and check in to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Boat Cruise and hike to the top of the falls

After breakfast, you will take on a morning game drive in the park. The game drive will take you to the deeper parts of the park. Meet lions, elephants, gazelles and giraffes. The park is a prime birding area as well. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will take on a boat cruise on the River Nile. Get to see the aquatic species of the park like Nile crocodiles and hippopotamuses. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls. You will then hike to the top of the falls and enjoy the spectacular waterfall experience. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park – the primate capital of the world.

You will enjoy scenic views of the surrounding areas including the magical Rwenzori Mountains.

Lunch will be en route. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland tour

After breakfast, you will go to the Visitors Center for chimp trekking. You will enter the forests of Kibale and search for the apes.

Upon meeting the apes, you will spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will take a walk in the Bigodi wetland for a birding adventure.

You will explore the Bigodi wetland. Visit the local communities before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Visit Amabere Caves and Fort Portal City tour

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and visit the Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru caves.

You will visit the top of the world as well as Fort Portal city tour.

In the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy the scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Upon arrival, have lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure. Make the most of the hotel facilities such as a bar and swimming pool. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Morning Game drive and afternoon Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector. You will meet multiple elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, and leopards. The park is a reliable birding destination. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise at Kazinga Channel – the water body that connects Lake Edward to Lake George.

Watch hippos and crocodiles as well as interact with the local fishermen. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 10: Morning Game Drive in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and take on an en-route game drive in the Ishasha Sector of the Park.

This game drive will introduce you to the rare tree-climbing lions. You will meet other animals, cactus trees and birds.

Depending on the time, you will take on a coffee tour on your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Lunch will be en route. Upon arrival, check in to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 11: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a pre-gorilla trekking briefing. You will start your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi.

Upon meeting the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Batwa Community tour and Lake Bunyonyi tour

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on the amazing Batwa Community tour around Bwindi, Kabale, and Lake Bunyonyi.

Take part in their daily chores as you learn and appreciate cultural diversity. You will go for a boat ride or canoeing at Lake Bunyonyi – Africa’s second-deepest lake.

Visit any of the 29 islands on the lake as you swim in the fresh waters. In the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park via Igongo Cultural Centre

After breakfast, check out of the road and start your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. You will enjoy scenic views of the rugged landscape and the rolling hills of western Uganda.

It is also a mixture of savannah plains as you drive through Ntungamo and Mbarara districts.

Lunch will be at Igongo Country Hotel while you tour the Cultural Center and learn the history of the Ankole kingdom. Continue to Lake Mburo National Park via Sanga gate. Check in to your lodge upon arrival. Dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

On the 14th day of your 15 days Grand Uganda Safari you will explore Lake Mburo National Park. It starts with a morning breakfast followed by a game drive.

The game drive will introduce you to multiple herbivores. Zebras, antelopes, kudus, gazelles, buffaloes, leopards, and warthogs are all found in this park. For bird lovers, Lake Mburo National Park is a perfect destination. Return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo. This will introduce you to the water-dwellers of the park, fishermen, and birds. In the evening, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 15: Transfer to Kampala – Departure

After breakfast, check out the lodge and drive back to Kampala. You will have a lunch stopover en –route and take on the tour at the Uganda Equator.

You may buy craft from the shops and remind yourself of the amazing 15 days grand Uganda safari.

The driver guide will drop you off at either a hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe Airport for your outbound flight. This marks the end of your special 15 days grand Uganda safari.
