Overview.
This seven days best of Uganda holiday has been crafted with the intention of enabling adventure seeking travelers to explore the pearl of Africa to the fullest. Travelers will therefore have visits to the most popular places in the country, setting their eyes on the beautiful flora and fauna species therein.
Travelers will have the opportunity to explore Bwindi impenetrable National Park which is a host to the oldest tropical rainforest on the African continent and also home to half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas.
Further visits will be launched to Queen Elizabeth National Park where visitors will have game drive experiences and the opportunity to observe the tree climbing lions. A variety of recreational activities have been added to this trip to make it more satisfying
Detailed itinerary.
Day 1. Travel from Entebbe to Bwindi plus Equator experience.
A professional tourist guide will pick up the guests from the hotel in Entebbe in the morning. Undertake the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a journey that will take you 8-10 hours covering about 520 kilometers distance.
You will have a stopover at the Kayabwe equator spot where you will indulge in the Coriolis effect activities that help demonstrate the equilibrium of the earth at the spot. You will also get some snacks and souvenirs at the nearby shops to keep you satisfied as you explore and interested in the journey.
Continue to the South in Mbarara where you will have a lunch stopover at Igongo cultural center. You will be served delicious local meals that will help you have a taste of the local cuisine. Savor the meals and after continue to the South to Bwindi impenetrable National Park.
Check-in at the lodge and relax on your premises the entire evening.
Dinner and overnight
Day 2. Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience
The guests will have an early breakfast after which you will undertake a briefing about the guidelines of the tracking activity. The Ranger guides will tell the visitors the dos and don’ts while on the gorilla track.
Make your way into the jungle to meet the exciting mountain gorillas. You will be allowed a maximum of 60 minutes to watch the gorillas once they are met. Observe their fascinating behaviors and how they interact while in their natural habitat.
Head back to the lodge and get served a delicious lunch. After lunch, you will have an encounter with the exciting Batwa people. They are renowned for their unique lifestyle and provide entertainment to visitors.
They coexist peacefully with the mountain gorillas in the natural forest. They are renowned hunter-gatherers and visitors will enjoy interacting with them the entire evening.
Return to the lodge at sunset to have some rest, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 3. Head to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha. Game drive.
Have early meals at the hotel and check out to undertake the transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey will take you about 6-7 hours through the Ishasha sector. It is a renowned habitat for the tree-climbing lions which you may have a chance to watch.
Continue to the north and check-in at the lodge, have lunch after which you will undertake a game drive through the captivating Kasenyi plains.
On the game drive, you’ll have an opportunity to observe a variety of animals including the African buffaloes, leopards, lions, jackals, servals, hippos, African savannah elephants, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, and impalas. Enjoy the activity until sundown when you will travel back to the lodge to get served dinner and rest for the night.
Day 4. Game drive and boat cruise.
Upon waking up in the morning, you will have early breakfast as you the views of the captivating landscapes.
After breakfast, you will undertake a morning game drive through the diverse landscapes of the National Park which will further unveil opportunities to observe a variety of wildlife species. Visitors will set their eyes on attractive creatures especially the big four animals and countless bird species.
Transfer back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, drive to the Kazinga Channel in the National Park. At the channel, you will undertake an exhilarating boat cruise that will present you with opportunities to observe other attractive creatures in the park.
Enjoy floating on the magnificent water body as you observe the hippos, and birds on the shores of the lake.
Return to the lodge at sunset to relax, have evening meals, and rest for the night.
Day 5. Transfer from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale forest National Park. Chimpanzee trek.
Have an early breakfast and check out of the lodge to undertake the transfer to Kibale National Park. The journey will take you approximately 2 hours covering the about 75 kilometer distance.
The drive will take you through the diverse landscapes as you stare at the Rwenzori mountain ranges which will even make the trip more satisfying.
Explore around the forest on arrival for opportunities to take beautiful photographs and observe some of the primates that live in the forest. Check-in at the lodge in the afternoon and have lunch.
In the afternoon, you will undertake the exciting chimpanzee trekking activities. This will begin with a briefing with the Ranger guides of the National Park information center who will tell you about the guidelines of the activity and accompany you to the jungle to watch the exciting primates.
The activity will take you about two to three hours and you will be allowed a maximum of one hour to observe the chimpanzees once the family is met. Travel back to the hotel and relax in the compound as you enjoy the views of the towering rainforest.
Dinner will be served later and you’ll have an overnight rest.
Day 6. Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Boat cruise, Sunset game drive.
The esteemed travellers will wake up to a well-prepared breakfast. Enjoy the breakfast and after check out of the lodge embark on the drive to Murchison National Park. The journey will take you about 4-6 hours covering a distance of about 252.7 kilometers.
Check in the lodge on arrival in the park to freshen up and have delicious meals.
After lunch, you will head to the Nile River to undertake an exhilarating boat cruise. The boat cruise will be launched to the view of the powerful Murchison Falls.
The guests will enjoy watching the falls and taking beautiful pictures around them amidst the views of diverse landscapes and handful of bird species. Enjoy the experience at the falls until sunset when you will travel back to the hotel to get served the dinner and have a night rest.
Day 7. Morning game drive. Travel back to Entebbe. Enroute visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
After an early breakfast, you will undertake an exciting morning game drive through the breathtaking landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park.
The game drive will unveil opportunities for you to observe a variety of wildlife species especially the giraffes, lions, leopards, jackals, elephants and birds.
Enjoy the activity up to the mid morning. Transfer back to the lodge to relax and check out. Leave Murchison falls National Park and then undertake the drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Trek the rhinos in the afternoon. Observe their fascinating behaviors especially the feeding and how they groom their young ones.
A delicious lunch will be served at the restaurants in the sanctuary after which, you will head back to Entebbe International Airport. The journey will take you about 3 hours covering a distance of 201.8 kilometers. Catch the flights back home to the end of the exciting safari.
